Supplies
- Gloves – Protect yourself from bacteria and keep your hands clean!
- A Spoon – Scoop out wet or raw food from cans or jars.
- Newspaper – Lay down on the table first to reduce the mess (BONUS – you can recycle it after!)
- Ziplock & Scissors – We like to use these to get the wet or mushy food inside of the toy. (Sort of like putting icing on a cake!) Load the ziploc bag with two-three scoops of wet food, then cut one of the bottom corners of the bag, and squeeze the wet food into the toy.
- A food toy, or a stuffable bone.
INGREDIENTS
- Scrambled Eggs
- Bacon
- Sweet Potato
- Part Of Your Dog’s Breakfast Kibble (Or Raw Food)
- Kibble Substitute: Spinach
Instructions
- Stuff one end of your food toy with the mashed sweet potato to plug it while you put the rest of the ingredients in.
- Primarily use the bacon, scrambled eggs, kibble (or spinach), and a small bit of sweet potato to fill the rest.
- Plug the other end with some more mashed sweet potato.
- To make it “chill”, freeze it! (We usually prepare a bunch of food stuffing toys, then freeze overnight.)
- Then serve to your puppy or dog, and enjoy!
***Please note these Precautions To Take Before Feeding***
- Always make sure your choice in a food toy does not pose a choking hazard to your dog. (Example: A Great Dane needs a different size food toy than a Pomeranian.) The size of your toy should be large enough that your dog cannot swallow, choke, or get his jaw caught on it.
- Make sure to check with your veterinarian, or your dog’s professional nutritionist, first before making ANY changes or additions to your dog’s current diet.
